The Enhanced “Transhuman Muslim”: Islamic Ethico-Legal Reflections on Transhumanist Challenges

The Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE) is pleased to invite you to an engaging seminar that explores the intersection of emerging transhumanist technologies and Islamic ethical thought.

In this session, we will delve into the implications of transhumanist enhancements—such as increased longevity, physical strength, sensory capabilities, and AI-supported knowledge—on Islamic law and ethics. Key concepts such as taklīf, ahliyya (responsibility), ḥurma (physical integrity), and the concept of the body will be examined through three hypothetical case studies and an interdisciplinary lens.
